Description
About Verita AI
Verita AI is building the intelligent infrastructure that powers the next frontier of AI development: generative media systems. Our AI-driven talent marketplace matches vetted creative experts with frontier AI labs building the next generation of image, audio, music, and video models.
Verita AI is a seed-stage company valued at $25 million. We recently raised $6 million led by Kindred Ventures. Our founding team includes alumni of Mercor, Hudson River Trading, Citadel, IDEO, Stanford, and Yale.
Your Role
As an AI Evaluation Specialist (Mechanical Engineering focus), you will apply your professional experience in mechanical engineering to help define, execute, and evaluate realistic engineering workflows.
This is a part-time, contract role (~20 hours/week) designed for experienced professionals looking to contribute on a flexible basis.
What You'll Do
Design and validate tasks based on real-world mechanical engineering workflows and decision-making processes
Reason about physical systems, constraints, and tradeoffs in realistic operating contexts
Evaluate feasibility, performance limits, and failure modes in system-level analyses
Identify unrealistic or physically inconsistent outputs and explain why they fail in practice
Interact with tools or browser-based environments to reflect authentic engineering workflows
Provide clear, written explanations of engineering reasoning, tradeoffs, and conclusions
Review and validate AI-generated engineering analyses for realism, correctness, and sound judgment
Help define standards for what "good" mechanical engineering reasoning looks like in applied settings
What We're Looking For
Mechanical engineering roles in industry or applied R&D
Systems engineering or hardware-focused engineering roles
Experience working with complex physical systems, assets, or machinery
Ideal candidates would have:
A PhD or a Master's degree in mechanical engineering (or a closely related field) with 3+ years of professional experience
Strong intuition for physical systems, constraints, and real-world operating conditions
Experience evaluating technical analyses and identifying flawed assumptions or unrealistic conclusions
Clear written communication skills and the ability to explain engineering reasoning
A high bar for correctness, realism, and practical feasibility
Interest in identifying where AI systems succeed or fail when applied to real engineering tasks
Why Verita AI?
You'll be joining a team at the intersection of creative expertise and frontier AI research. This is a rare opportunity to build something from the ground up and play a defining role in shaping how Verita AI shows up to the world.
